MOBILE, Ala. (WALA) – When a film crew shows up in the Port City to film a major motion picture, it often is the end result of a lot of legwork from a two-employee city office.
The Mobile Film Office touted its work Tuesday at a City Council committee meeting.
Keli Shirazi, director of the office, said she taps her network of film producers from her time in the industry to try to drum up business. That means making cold calls and standing ready to provide whatever a production might need.
