Mobile County girl severely burned in deadly fire hopes book can inspire others

MOBILE COUNTY, Ala. ( WKRG ) — A girl severely burned in a house fire as a baby has marked a new chapter in her life. Now 8 years old, Justice Nodd has written a book with her mother to talk about her struggles and triumphs through immense trauma.

‘I wanted to inspire people’

Sitting with her mother in their home, you can see that Justice Nodd has been through a lot. From her head to her toes, the first thing you see is her scars, but when she talks, her sweetness shines through.

“I wanted to inspire people, to tell them that they will feel just the way they are and they don’t have to change the way they look,” said Justice Nodd.

That’s the message of “True Beauty,” a book inspired by Justice’s life, near-death and struggles.

“I feel good, but sometimes I get judged by the way I look,” said Justice Nodd.

Justice wears the scars of the November 2015 Prichard fire that nearly took her life and did take the life of her 3-year-old sister London.
