An Amtrak train traveling to New Orleans Monday evening hit and killed a woman on the tracks in Irvington, Alabama, according to an Amtrak spokesperson and media reports.
The train had just left Mobile when it hit the woman at about 4:55 p.m., said Marc Magliari, the Amtrak spokesperson. None of the 56 passengers or crew members aboard the train were injured.
