Baldwin County goes the extra mile for school bus drivers

BALDWIN COUNTY, Ala. (WKRG) – With school out for the summer, Baldwin County Public Schools is showing appreciation for its bus drivers, while also working to fill an ongoing national shortage behind the wheel.

The district held its annual School Bus “Road-E-O” on Friday morning to thank the county’s bus drivers for all that they do.

WKRG News 5’s Taylor Boysen spoke with a driver who said even after 50 years behind the wheel, she is still doing the job she loves most.

“A bus driver is the first person that they see,” she said. “Every morning I say good morning with a smile and I just love my kids.”…
