Riverbank family receives eviction notice after story

Shortly after The Modesto Bee wrote about the Sandoval family’s struggles with unintended consequences of the North County Corridor Project, the father and daughter received an eviction notice from their family member.

The home at Claribel Road and Roselle Avenue repeatedly flooded for years after a drain was blocked in error by Stanislaus County contractors in 2019. Melissa Sandoval has lived in the house her whole life and takes care of her father, Robert Sandoval.

On July 23, the Sandovals received a “notice to quit.” It stated they were not at fault but needed to remove themselves from the property within 60 days or face legal action…
