SAN JOAQUIN COUNTY, Calif. — San Joaquin County’s latest Point-in-Time Count showed a big drop in unsheltered homelessness, according to the San Joaquin Continuum of Care.
In a news release, officials reported 1,838 unsheltered individuals and 1,468 sheltered individuals across the county during the 2026 count. Compared to 2024, the number of sheltered individuals increased by 205 people, or 16%, while the number of unsheltered individuals decreased by 1,631 people, or 47%.
