The treasurer of the Alabama-West Florida Conference of the United Methodist Church said on Tuesday that many churches are forwarding no money at all to the conference as required by the denomination.
Only 121 churches gave 100 percent of their apportionment, or required amount based on their size, to the conference in 2025, said the Rev. Angie Long, treasurer for the Alabama-West Florida Conference.
“We have some churches that flat-out refuse to give,” Long said. “That’s the cloud over where we are.”…
