MONTGOMERY, Ala. (WAFF) – Alabama public schools will be required to display the Ten Commandments in history classrooms and common areas beginning this school year under a new state law.
Senate Bill 99 requires local schools to display an approved poster or framed document in fifth through 12th grade history classrooms, as well as common areas such as lunchrooms. The displays must also include other historical documents, including the Mayflower Compact and excerpts from the U.S. Constitution.
