MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Ala. (WSFA) – A Montgomery County jury has convicted a man in a 2023 Labor Day shooting that killed one person and left another paralyzed, District Attorney Azzie Oliver announced Monday.
Prosecutors said Brendan Thomas shot and killed 20-year-old Adrianna Conville inside a hotel in the 1400 block of Eastern Boulevard. He was also convicted in the shooting of DeVris Bilbrew, who was 17 at the time and was left permanently paralyzed.
According to evidence presented at trial, Thomas went to the hotel on Sept. 4 to visit Conville. When she told him she did not want to leave with him, prosecutors said he pulled out a gun and opened fire inside the room.
