Mother of Escambia County homicide suspect charged for trying to help son evade capture

MONTGOMERY, Ala. — The mother of an Escambia County homicide suspect in early March was arrested for accessory to murder.

The sheriff’s office says Sonya Cross-McAdoo of Montgomery, Alabama, helped her son Devaughn Williamson cross state lines in an attempt to evade capture.

Williamson was eventually caught in Phoenix, Arizona, on April 17 for a homicide that occurred on March 4 in the 100 block of Booker Lane…
