The severe weather season has kicked things up a notch for our area. The Townsquare Media Weather Center is monitoring the potential for strong-to-severe storms during the middle of the week.
Risk Level and Areas
The Storm Prediction Center has issued a Level 2 out of 5 (Slight Risk) for severe thunderstorms for Wednesday, May 6, into Thursday, May 7.
This slight risk zone includes all of the Townsquare Media coverage area of West Alabama, which includes Bibb, Fayette, Greene, Hale, Lamar, Perry, Pickens, Sumter, Tuscaloosa, and Walker counties.
Timeline
The current data indicates that this system will occur late Wednesday into Thursday morning. A more specific timing guide will come as we get closer to the storm threat.
