Rare blue micromoon rises over Middle Tennessee this weekend

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) – Make sure you’ve got your eyes to the sky this weekend so you can catch the full blue micromoon.

The full moon peaking early Sunday morning is considered a “blue moon” because it is the second full moon to occur within a calendar month. The first full moon of May, known as the Flower Moon, rose on May 1.
