Taking a closer look at Murfreesboro’s proposed Stonesbattle Parkway corridor

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. (WZTV) — As Murfreesboro leaders move forward with plans for the proposed Stonesbattle Parkway Corridor, FOX 17 News is taking a closer look at what the project could mean for drivers and how the roadway could eventually take shape.

The long-term transportation project is designed to create a new east-west connection across Murfreesboro and Rutherford County. Current plans show the corridor connecting Memorial Boulevard, also known as Lebanon Pike, to Interstate 24 in the northwestern part of the county.

According to planning documents, the route would follow Cherry Lane east of Interstate 840 before becoming Stonesbattle Parkway west of the interstate. The corridor would continue toward Northwest Broad Street and Florence Road before ultimately reaching I-24…
