UPDATE: JACKSON, TN (WGNS) – Murfreesboro Police spent part of Wednesday morning clearing up confusion after initial reports suggested the man accused of trying to rob Ascend Federal Credit Union on Memorial Boulevard had been taken into custody. MPD PIO Larry Flowers told media that the information released Tuesday evening was incorrect — the suspect was never caught.
The Lebanon Police Department reports that a suspect believed to be 47-year-old George David Treece of Kentucky was identified in surveilance photos at an earlier armed robbery at Truist Bank in nearby Lebanon. Photos from the unsuccessful armed robbery attempt in Murfreesboro show both subjects may be the same person.
