Today will feature a slightly better chance for afternoon and evening thunderstorms. Isolated severe thunderstorms with damaging winds are possible, and any storm that does form will be moving slowly, meaning localized flooding can’t be ruled out either. Frequent lightning and small hail can also be expected in the strongest storms. It stays hot and very muggy, with most reaching the low 90s (Heat Index Values 100°+).
Spotty storms may linger through around midnight before drying out to another warm, muggy and mainly cloudy overnight with lows only falling into the middle 70s.
We will see temperatures continue to come down slightly, back to seasonable averages as we begin the new work week, with most seeing highs near 90° on Monday and Tuesday…
