Botched execution fallout clouds Tennessee’s next death sentence

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — Tennessee is set to execute Anthony Darrell Hines on Aug. 13, nearly 40 years after he was sentenced to death for the 1985 murder of Katherine Jean Jenkins, a 54-year-old maid at the Cebon Motel in Kingston Springs.

With the execution date approaching, new legal challenges are shifting attention away from Hines’ conviction and toward Tennessee’s execution procedures.
