Norfolk Southern to resume freight service connecting East Tennessee towns after yearslong pause

WHITE PINE, Tenn. (WVLT) – Norfolk Southern (NS) will soon reopen a rail line in East Tennessee that has not seen regular traffic since 2018.

An NS spokesperson said freight rail service will return to its BL Line, a 17-mile rail corridor connecting Bulls Gap and White Pine, on Friday.
