48-year-old Michael Shawn Earls of Hodges Road, Smithville is charged with resisting arrest and unlawful possession of a weapon. His bond is $15,000 and he will appear in court on August 6.
Sheriff Patrick Ray said that on July 20 while deputies were investigating a domestic complaint on Hodges Road, Earls was found to be there in possession of a Baretta .22-caliber long-rifle handgun.
