East Tennessee-based hemp company moving to North Carolina files WARN notice ahead of THCA sales ban taking full effect

JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. — A hemp manufacturer is warning of potential negative economic impacts, including over 100 people losing their jobs, as a result of the ban of THCA sales in the state.

A WARN notice filed with the Tennessee Department of Labor and Workforce Development on May 14 shows Greenbean Ventures, LLC, the corporation managing Johnson-City based Gold Spectrum CBD, will lay off 121 workers in East Tennessee starting July 13.

According to a release from Gold Spectrum CBD, the company is relocating to North Carolina, taking $750,000 in payroll across state lines ahead of the June 30th expiration date on hemp-derived cannabinoid licenses…
