Downtown businesses express mixed feelings about upcoming Carolina Country Music Fest

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (WBTW) — For years, Carolina Country Music Fest has drawn thousands to Myrtle Beach, and while the city benefits from the increased tourism, some businesses on Ocean Boulevard said they aren’t as lucky.

Throughout the four-day festival, Ocean Boulevard is swarmed with those looking to enjoy what the festival has to offer. And in the time leading up to the event, so are the businesses.

“Whenever they have the events, it’ll always bring a lot of foot traffic,” said Julia Morovitz, manager at Good Vibes Gift Shop. “Especially here, because everybody kind of walks towards the entrance. So we’ll have a lot of people come by and buy hats and bags.”…
