Unsanitary conditions lead to child neglect charges in Horry County, report says

HORRY COUNTY S.C. (WPDE) — A man and woman have been charged each with three counts of unlawful conduct toward a child, according to the J. Reuben Long booking records.

A woman told police she had a student with a history of family-related issues at home and concerning home conditions. Because of these concerns, she contacted the police, according to the case report by the Horry County police (HCP)

Police then spoke with one of the victims, a female student. She claims that the living conditions at her residence were unsuitable for her and her sisters. She states that there were roaches, spiders, clutter and mold throughout the home…
