MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) – A protest broke out Sunday after several people were arrested outside Fresh Brewed Coffee House in Myrtle Beach, a place known in the community as a daytime resource for those in need.
Community members took to social media, sharing videos and expressing concerns about the arrests made by the Myrtle Beach Police Department for alleged loitering in the City Hall parking lot. The coffee house and City Hall are steps from each other on Broadway Street.
“Homelessness is not a crime. We’ve had police officers arrest people for loitering in the parking lot next to our coffee house yesterday and today which was really surprising,” Executive Director of Fresh Brewed Ministries Kate Curran said…
