HCPD’s latest internal investigation into 2022 case finds policy violation

HORRY COUNTY, SC (WMBF) – A new internal investigation has found a policy violation in how the Horry County Police Department handled a 2022 case.

Police Chief Kris Leonhardt said Tuesday that an April 9 internal investigation found that a policy violation occurred in connection with the June 2022 arrest of Thomas Wade Long, the son-in-law of former Horry County Councilman Harold Worley.
