Naperville Crews Work Around the Clock Following Severe Weather

Naperville Public Works, Electric and public safety crews have been working continuously since severe weather struck the area yesterday afternoon, clearing roads, restoring power and responding to hundreds of service requests across the city.

As of this morning, all roads that had been fully blocked by fallen tree debris were cleared and reopened by midnight. Crews are now responding to more than 300 service requests and will shift focus to intersections and additional needs — including clearing blocked sidewalks — over the next several days.

One of the most common questions residents are asking is whether the city will offer a special free bulk brush collection in heavily impacted areas. City officials say it is too early to make that call. Crews will assess the volume of tree branches left curbside through Monday before reaching a decision.
