A casual dining spot in downtown Batavia, Everdine’s Grilled Cheese, is planning to permanently close its doors. The restaurant announced the closure on social media and thanked the community for its support.
Everdine’s Grilled Cheese to Close Batavia Store
Co-owned by Kelly and Brian Herkert, Everdine’s Grilled Cheese has operated in Batavia for about one year. The concept was inspired by the couple’s budget-conscious honeymoon across the globe, when grilled cheese sandwiches came in handy as a quick, affordable, and delicious meal.
The first location of Everdine’s Grilled Cheese was established in Naperville in 2016. The Batavia store was the second location of the sandwich restaurant, founded in 2025. However, the restaurant announced that its Naperville location closed permanently on July 17.
