CITGO Petroleum Corporation is set to deliver gasoline produced at its Lemont Refinery to customers in New York in early October, marking the first shipment to use Buckeye Partners’ newly reversed bi-directional service on the Laurel Pipeline.
The movement represents a significant step in connecting Midwest-produced transportation fuels with East Coast markets, while providing additional access to US produced fuel supplies in the region.
According to CITGO Vice President of Supply and Marketing Karl Schmidt, the new service will provide greater flexibility within the company’s supply network.
“This first shipment adds valuable optionality to our supply system, helping us move fuel where it is needed and better serve customers,” Schmidt said. “It reflects disciplined commercial execution and creates new opportunities to deliver value.”…
