On Thursday, WJOL’s Scott Slocum interviewed Joliet Mayor Terry D’Arcy about a number of issues. One of which is the city’s plan to try to ban truck traffic from local streets through downtown Joliet, fleshing out a proposal to redirect truck traffic to other routes, such as I-80, I-55, Larkin Avenue and/or Hoboult Road.
The Mayor says that he has been meeting with a group of local leaders to brainstorm ways in which to legally ban trucks from downtown Joliet.
“I get a lot of comments on what am I going to do about the bridges,” said D’Arcy, “and I say the bridges belong to IDOT, so it’s difficult for (the city) because we really have no say, but we have to deal with the problem…
