The National Weather Service Nashville forecast calls for virtually no rain Sunday and southwest winds between 0 and 10 mph. The Extreme Heat Warning remains in effect through 7 p.m. Sunday, while nearby areas under a Heat Advisory face similarly oppressive conditions.
Extreme Heat Warning Runs Through Sunday Evening
Sunday afternoon will be the most hazardous part of the weekend, especially for people working or exercising outdoors. Officials recommend drinking plenty of fluids, staying in air conditioning when possible, avoiding direct sun and checking on relatives and neighbors who may be vulnerable to heat illness.
Nashville’s extreme heat response page lists cooling shelters and heat-patrol resources for residents who need relief. The city’s Office of Homeless Services says heat patrols can provide water, cool rides and connections to service providers during high-heat days.
