Storm causes extensive damage in Goodlettsville; mother and children take shelter as tree crashes through roof

GOODLETTSVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) -Storms moved through northern Davidson County early Tuesday morning, causing extensive damage to a remote area of Goodlettsville.

NES crews started work on Browns Lake Road, where trees were down and trunks were snapped in half. Power was out and neighbors worked to help clear trees to get roads open. Some people were stranded and unable to get out of their driveways.

Neighbors said the storm took a turn at about 2:30 a.m. Tuesday and they heard a loud roaring sound that lasted about two minutes. When it was over, trees were down on roofs.
