RTA board expected to name interim CEO

NEW ORLEANS — The Regional Transit Authority board of commissioners is expected to formally accept the resignation of CEO Lona Edwards Hankins and appoint an interim leader during a meeting on Tuesday

This comes more than a week after Hankins announced her intention to step down in a letter to the board.

Before resigning, Hankins’ attorney said she wrote the agency a check for nearly $21,000 to repay what were described as excess car allowance payments she received during her tenure as CEO. Her contract reportedly included a $600 monthly car allowance…
