NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — Legendary, multi-genre singer Tom Jones is bringing his “Come Gather Round Tour” to New Orleans “One Day Soon.”
At the age of 85, Jones continues to showcase his talents around the world, captivating audiences with a well-known discography of songs including “It’s Not Unusual,” “Knock on Wood,” “What’s New Pussycat,” “The Impossible Dream” and more.
Through the years, fans and critics have praised Jones’ performances, saying his talents are “undeniable and unique.”
Ships arrive ahead of Sail 250 festivities in New Orleans
Born in South Wales, Jones left school at an early age and worked odd jobs before getting his start with a local band, The Senators. From there, he went on to start his own group called Tom Jones and the Squires.
In the 1960s, he signed with Decca Records in London and produced hits that included “Delilah,” and “Green, Green Grass of Home” and earned him international fame. His career took him to gain a TV show called “This is Tom Jones”…
