METAIRIE, La. (WGNO) — ACE is still the place with the helpful Hardware man and his helpful hardware family, according to WGNO Good Morning New Orleans features reporter Bill Wood.
The helpful hardware man is Matt Skaer. He and his family transformed the old Joann Fabrics store at 731 Veterans Memorial Blvd. into a hardware store.

“So, for hurricane prep, everybody always knows duct tape, batteries, flashlight, water but I like to focus on the stuff that’s maybe off the beaten path. There is so much new stuff that makes a hurricane experience so much easier,” said Skaer.
