Suspect in custody after barricading himself in Hale Boggs building downtown, police say

NEW ORLEANS — A 34-year-old man barricaded himself inside of an upper floor at the Hale Boggs Federal Building in downtown New Orleans Friday evening and threw objects out of a window eight floors below, the NOPD says.

Dwight Armbrus was Tased and taken to a hospital for treatment of what police described as minor injuries. He will be booked with simple criminal damage to property with other charges possible.

According to investigators, courthouse security notified police around 5:45 p.m. after the man barricaded himself in an office. Police said Armbrus allegedly damaged a window and tossed items to the ground below…
