As New Orleans officials weigh new cost-saving measures after abandoning a $110 million bond sale request, their efforts to balance the city’s budget appear to be paying off.
As of May 31, the city had collected about $22 million more than what officials budgeted, and it has spent about $33 million less than they budgeted, according to the latest budget report shared by Mayor Helena Moreno’s administration.
