NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) – Surveillance video shows a 12-year-old boy being struck by an SUV near the corner of North Solomon and Toulouse streets in Mid-City just before 8:30 p.m. Tuesday (July 14), and the driver left him on the side of the road, according to the boy’s family.
Asher White Phillips was thrown to the ground in the crash. His parents said he suffered a broken jaw and a swollen leg, and will start seventh grade with his jaw wired shut. He is also out of sports for the summer.
