I-20 traffic stop leads to drug arrest

A routine traffic stop along Interstate 20 in Lincoln Parish resulted in the arrest of a New Orleans woman after Louisiana State Police allegedly discovered suspected marijuana, ecstasy, and prescription medication during a vehicle search, according to court records and law enforcement officials.

The incident occurred on the evening of July 10, when a Louisiana State Police trooper stopped a vehicle traveling eastbound on I-20 for multiple traffic violations. Following the investigation, Juanita Marie Johnson, 32, of New Orleans, was taken into custody and booked into the Lincoln Parish Detention Center on several drug-related charges. Authorities emphasized that the charges are allegations, and Johnson is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.

Traffic Stop Initiated for Unsafe Driving

According to the arrest affidavit, the traffic stop took place at approximately 9:00 p.m. near milepost 73 on Interstate 20 in Lincoln Parish.
