Nearly 30-year Mother’s Day tradition brings families to Cabrini Park in the French Quarter

NEW ORLEANS — Families gathered Sunday in New Orleans’ French Quarter for a Mother’s Day tradition that combined live music, dancing and community celebration in Cabrini Park.

The 27th annual Mother’s Day Concert and Picnic, hosted by the Vieux Carré Property Owners, Residents and Associates Vieux Carré Property Owners, Residents and Associates, brought families to Cabrini Park for a free outdoor event featuring music, picnics and dancing in the heart of the residential French Quarter.

Organizers said the event, first launched in 1997, has become a longstanding Mother’s Day tradition, drawing generations of families back to the park each year…
