New Orleans detectives renew push for answers in 45-year-old Moonwalk homicide

NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — New Orleans Police Department cold case detectives are asking for the public’s help in solving a 45-year-old homicide that happened along the Moonwalk during Super Bowl weekend in 1981.

Investigators say 30-year-old Donald Cedric Faul of Lafayette was stabbed to death near the riverfront in the early morning hours of Jan. 25, 1981.

According to detectives, Faul had spent the night with friends before walking along the Moonwalk near Decatur and St. Peter streets with a female friend around 6 a.m…
