Jury gets Cache Shelton murder case after emotional testimony, explosive closing arguments

Jurors began deliberating Thursday afternoon in the murder trial of Cache Shelton after prosecutors and defense attorneys delivered sharply contrasting accounts of what happened inside a downtown New Orleans hotel room when Shelton’s boyfriend, Nicolas Harrison, was shot through the forehead in December 2022.

The case went to the jury after Shelton spent roughly 2½ hours on the witness stand over two days, calmly defending herself under aggressive cross-examination from New Orleans District Attorney Jason Williams about changes to her story in the hours after Harrison’s death.
