New York City’s latest answer to “What’s for dinner?” is not a restaurant reservation or a rushed grocery run. It is H. Valley, a new West Village market where shoppers can grab a bacon, egg, and cheese in the morning, pick up fresh produce and pantry staples in the afternoon, and leave with rotisserie chicken, prepared sides, and even dog food by nightfall.
H. Valley opened September 23 at 569 Hudson Street, bringing a café, grocery store and prepared-food market into one 24-seat neighborhood space. It comes from chef Austin Johnson and restaurateur Eytan Sugarman, who are aiming to bring Hudson Valley-sourced goods and chef-driven convenience to the West Village without making it feel like a generic grab-and-go stop.

Valley is structured to cover several parts of the day, from coffee and pastries in the morning to lunch, take-home dinner, and produce and ready-to-cook ingredients later on.
Patch New York reports that the market carries chef-prepared food alongside locally and seasonally sourced groceries and provisions, including breakfast, lunch, take-home meals, and pantry basics. The broader lineup includes seasonal produce, fresh and frozen pastas, housemade sauces, ready-to-cook proteins and provisions intended to make dinner easier…
