YORKTOWN, Va. (WAVY) — The York County School Division has announced school closures and event cancellations Wednesday due to the weather affecting the area, according to a post from the division onFacebook.

The division has confirmed that its staff have been monitoring weather forecasts and consulting with York County’s emergency management officials about the possibility of tidal flooding in the area.
All after-school and evening activities and events on Sept. 23 have been canceled due to the forecasts and predicted impact on roads. All buildings and facilities will be closed for students and staff on Sept. 24.
The division also outlined more changes due to the severe weather:
- There won’t be remote learning for the division’s students.
- Staff will get work expectations for Sept. 24 from their supervisor by the close of business on Wednesday.
- All of tomorrow’s activities and events have also been canceled.
