(KRON) — The El Cerrito Police Department said it arrested a suspect following a violent armed robbery involving a large metal wrench that occurred Wednesday.
ECPD said the incident happened at 1:30 p.m. on the Ohlone Greenway near Wall Avenue when the 59-year-old female victim was confronted and assaulted by the suspect.
“During the attack, the victim was struck in the back of the head with a large metal wrench and then struck again on the side of her face,” El Cerrito police said in a statement to KRON4. “The assault caused deep cranial and facial lacerations and resulted in the loss of teeth. Once the victim was incapacitated, the suspect forcibly pulled the victim’s purse from her.”…
