3.6 earthquake shakes East Bay, followed by smaller temblor

A 3.6 magnitude earthquake shook the East Bay on Sunday morning, followed by a smaller temblor, according to the United States Geological Survey.

The 3.6 quake, recorded at 8:37 a.m., was centered 1 mile southwest of Alamo at a depth of 9.1 miles, the USGS said. Strong shaking was felt in Walnut Creek, Moraga and the Oakland hills. A Pleasant Hill resident reported his windows and mirrors rattled.

A 1.9 magnitude quake was reported in the same area at 8:56 a.m. at a depth of 7.2 miles…
