33-Year-Old Man Found Shot Dead on Walter Avenue, Oakland’s 34th Homicide of 2026

A 33-year-old man was found shot to death late Friday night on the 9300 block of Walter Avenue in East Oakland, according to Oakland police. Officers located the man at 10:50 p.m. on September 4, and he was pronounced dead at the scene.

The block sits in Oakland’s Elmhurst neighborhood, as reported by The Mercury News. Police have not released the victim’s name, pending notification of his family, nor have they released a possible motive, information about suspects, or word of any arrests connected to the shooting.
