(KRON) — Heavy smoke was visible Wednesday afternoon as a vegetation fire burned along Frontage Road in Berkeley. According to the Berkeley Police Department, Berkeley Fire crews were on the scene responding to the blaze.

Frontage Road is currently closed to all vehicle traffic between University Avenue and Frontage, according to Berkeley Police Department. Video from the Citizen app showed heavy smoke rising from the blaze.
People are being advised to avoid the area.
