Bay Area police arrest man on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon — a stick

San Mateo police arrested a 39-year-old man over the weekend after an attack that sprang from a verbal altercation.

Officers responded to a report of a disturbance on the 300 block of South Humboldt Street around 6:26 p.m. Saturday, according to the San Mateo Police Department. They learned that a man had struck another man in the head with a stick during an argument, police said.
