Mesón to take over Three One Four Pizzeria location in Berkley

A favorite dining concept will be making a comeback. While Mesón’s official opening date has not yet been announced, owner Cameron McVeig confirmed that the upcoming restaurant will be heavily inspired by César, the acclaimed Spanish tapas bar known for its paella and longtime presence in Berkeley before closing in 2022, according to Nosh.

Mesón will take over the former Three One Four Pizzeria space at 1329 Gilman St.

The new concept will also reunite several former César team members. The kitchen will be led by former César sous chef Juan Gomez, while Maggie Pond, who previously served as César’s opening and head chef, will also join the restaurant’s culinary team…
