Water shortage restrictions remain in place as drought recovery continues

Although many communities have received frequent rain in recent weeks, the St. Johns River Water Management District says groundwater levels and river flows recover much more slowly than rainfall totals. Officials estimate that many areas will need about 3 feet of additional rainfall over the next 3 months before conditions return to normal.
