Severe weather damaged two Ocala homes Saturday, bringing down trees and power lines and prompting multiple emergency responses from Ocala Fire Rescue.
Firefighters were first called around 11:53 a.m. to the 3100 block of SE Eighth Street after a large tree cracked and fell onto a home, taking power lines down with it.
Crews from Engines 2 and 5, Rescue 2, Squad 7, Battalion Chief 22 and a safety officer responded to the scene. Firefighters found extensive damage to the residence, with the tree crashing through the roof and breaking trusses, compromising the home’s structural integrity.
The damage extended from the kitchen and living room into a bedroom, according to Ocala Fire Rescue. No injuries were reported…
