Wyomina Park students to be rezoned to Oakcrest under Marion County school plan

MARION COUNTY, Fla. – Wyomina Park Elementary students are expected to be rezoned to Oakcrest Elementary for the 2027-28 school year as part of a Marion County school district plan to better use campus space and address aging facilities.

The district says the move is aimed at increasing enrollment at Oakcrest Elementary, which has declined over the years. The goal is to bring Oakcrest to about 90% of its capacity, while leaving about 10% of the space available as a buffer for future growth among students zoned for that school.

District leaders do not plan to leave the Wyomina Park campus empty. Once Wyomina Park students move to Oakcrest, the building would be used to relocate students from an older campus where Bridgeway Academy is currently housed…
